Treatment frequency osteopathy: How many treatments are needed at the osteopath?

Many people wonder how many treatments are needed with an osteopath.

This is a legitimate question that unfortunately cannot be easily answered. This is not only because individuals differ greatly from one another: the conditions seen by the osteopath also vary widely. However, a guideline can be given. After four treatments, there should be a marked improvement in symptoms in an adult. If after four times of moving the whole body osteopathically there is no result, then a fifth or a sixth time of treatment does not make sense at that time. It is then better to discuss what further treatment options are available.

Because infants and young children react a little faster, I agree with parents that after 3 treatments of osteopathy a clear difference should already have occurred.
Note that there is no claim here that every adult will be completely rid of their symptoms within 4 times (and every child within three times), but there must have been a significant improvement after that number of treatments.

Treatment frequency osteopathy

As for the frequency of treatments, efforts are made to have a somewhat shorter time between the first two treatments. Then you should think of 1 or at most 2 weeks. This is because the first consultation often addresses movement limitations that have existed for a long time and thus usually do not disappear after 1 session. After a second treatment, 2 to 3 weeks can then often be maintained as an interval and after the third treatment a little longer again. One thing, of course, can vary from person to person and condition to condition.
